Junk car removal in Hammond
Free towing from wherever the car sits, and you're paid at pickup.
Junk car removal in Hammond works like this: you send the car’s year, make and model and where it’s sitting, we call back with an offer, and a tow truck collects it. Towing is free, nothing is taken out of the offer for it, and you’re paid at pickup. Same-day pickup is often possible.
The car doesn’t have to run, roll or have air in its tires.
How does junk car removal work in Hammond?
Send the year, make, model and title status through the form, then your name, phone and pickup address. We call back with an offer. If you accept, we book the tow, often the same day. The driver loads the car where it sits, you sign it over, and you’re paid at pickup. The towing is free.
That’s the process from the seller’s side. Our how it works page goes through each step, including what you sign.
Where the car is matters more than what it is
Hammond’s street grid follows Chicago’s, so a junk car here might be at the curb, in a driveway, in a garage or on a slab off the alley. A tow truck can reach most of those. What it needs from you is a straight description.
When we call, we’ll ask:
- Street, driveway, garage or alley? A car at the curb is the simplest pull. A car nose-in to a garage may need to come out backwards.
- Can it roll? Flat tires, a locked steering wheel or a seized brake all change how the car is loaded.
- Is anything blocking it? Another car, a fence gate, snow from the plows.
- Whose property is it on? Yours, a landlord’s, a repair shop’s, an apartment or HOA lot: all fine. If it isn’t yours, arrange access with whoever runs the place before the truck comes.
- More than one car? One visit can take several, so list them all.
What we remove
We buy any vehicle in any condition: cars, trucks, vans and SUVs. In practice that covers:
- cars that won’t start (see selling a Hammond car that won’t start);
- cars with body damage from a crash;
- cars that failed and were never fixed;
- cars that have sat so long they’re more rust than paint;
- vehicles burned in a fire, soaked in a flood, or stripped of parts.
We don’t buy good running used cars for resale. If yours runs well and you want retail money for it, a junk buyer is the wrong call.
Getting ready for pickup day
Short list, and none of it is complicated:
- Take out everything that’s yours. Glovebox, trunk, under the seats, the garage door opener clipped to the visor.
- Find the paperwork. The title if you have it. If you don’t, tell us what you have (bill of sale, registration, insurance card): Indiana needs the title or a BMV certificate of authority, and our no-title page explains which route fits.
- Take the plates off. Indiana law says the person selling the car removes the plate and the registration, and the registration expires at the transfer (IC 9-18.1-4-6).
- Have your ID ready. You’ll sign the car over.
Every part of Hammond
We pick up from all six parts of the city we cover in detail, from Robertsdale at the lake down to South Hammond at the Little Calumet River. The neighborhood pages have pickup notes for each: which exits to use, where the ZIP codes get confusing, and what to tell us about the block. For junk car offers across Hammond, the form on this page is the fastest way in.
Questions
- Do I pay for the tow?
- No. The tow is free, and we don't deduct anything for it from your offer.
- Do I need to be there when the truck comes?
- Plan to be. You'll sign the paperwork, hand over the keys if there are any, and get paid at pickup.
- Can you get a car out of a garage or from behind a house?
- Tell us exactly where it is when we call: garage, alley, backyard slab, side drive. The driver plans the pull around it, so the more detail, the smoother the pickup.
- How soon can you come?
- Same-day pickup is often possible. It depends on the day and where the car is, so we'll give you a real time when we call.
