Junk car pickup in Hessville

Southeast Hammond, off Kennedy Avenue. Give us the cross street and we'll handle the rest.

Cash for Junk Cars Hammond picks up junk cars in Hessville, the southeast corner of Hammond, including cars that won’t start, wrecked cars and cars with a title problem. Send the car’s details, we call back with an offer, and a tow truck collects it. The tow is free; you’re paid on the spot when the truck takes the car.

Where Hessville is

Hessville is Hammond’s southeast neighborhood. It borders Woodmar to the west, East Chicago’s Calumet neighborhood to the north, Gary’s Westside and Black Oak neighborhoods to the east, and the town of Highland to the south.

Kennedy Avenue runs through Hessville, and it’s the road we’ll ask you about. The Borman Expressway (I-80/94) has a Kennedy Avenue exit, which puts Hessville a short run from the interstate for the tow truck.

It’s also a neighborhood with a lot of green in it. Much of Hessville was built on old dune-and-swale land, and pieces of that landscape survive in Carlson Oxbow Park, Gibson Woods and the Seidner Dune and Swale nature preserve. Hessville Park sits at 173rd Street and Kennedy Avenue.

It’s also the neighborhood A Christmas Story fictionalized, though the pickups here are less cinematic.

Pickup notes for Hessville

What makes a Hessville pickup quick is the same thing that makes any Hammond pickup quick: detail up front.

  • Give the cross street off Kennedy Avenue. A street address is enough for the map; a cross street is what helps a driver find the block without circling.
  • Say where the car is sitting. Street, driveway, garage, or behind the house.
  • Tell us if it rolls. Flat tires or a locked-up engine change how it’s loaded.
  • Near Highland or the Gary line? Just give the full street address. We don’t need you to know which side of a municipal boundary you’re on.

What we buy in Hessville

The same thing we buy everywhere in Hammond: junk, wrecked and scrap cars. That means:

  • a car that died in the driveway and never got fixed;
  • a car that won’t start (see selling a Hammond car that won’t start);
  • a car with crash damage;
  • a car that’s missing its title. No title? We can still help. Here in Indiana the sale needs the title or a $4 BMV certificate of authority, and we’ll sort out which fits your car on the call.

We don’t buy running used cars for resale. If yours runs well, you’ll get more for it elsewhere.

How a Hessville pickup goes

  1. Send the details. Year, make, model and title status, then your name, phone and the Hessville address.
  2. Hear the offer. We call back. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
  3. Book the tow. Same-day pickup is often possible; we’ll give you a real time on the call.
  4. Get paid at pickup. You sign the car over, hand over any keys, and you’re paid when the car is collected.

Take the plates and your belongings out before the truck arrives. The junk car removal page has the full checklist.

Questions

Do you pick up in Hessville?
Yes. Hessville is part of Hammond and we pick up junk cars across it. We tow at no charge and pay you when the truck collects the car.
What should I put in the pickup address for Hessville?
The street address, plus the nearest cross street off Kennedy Avenue if you know it. Say whether the car is on the street, in a driveway or in a garage.
Is Hessville in Hammond or Highland?
Hessville is Hammond's southeast neighborhood. Highland is the town on its southern border, so if you're near that line, the full street address settles it.
